After 1930, the Health Service creates its own research centres whose complete development will be realized after the Second World War. In Africa, The Muraz Centre devotes itself to the study of great endemics, trypanosomiasis in particular. The Marchoux Institute concentrates on the study of Leprosy ; the Ophthalmologic Institute on eye diseases ; the ORANA on those caused by malnutrition.
